Based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Vivien Brown is a respected family physician who is recognized as a prominent speaker both nationally and internationally. She is the accomplished author of “A Woman’s Guide to Healthy Aging – Seven Essential Ways to Keep You Vital, Happy, and Strong” and “The New Woman’s Guide To Healthy Aging: Eight Proven Ways to Keep You Vibrant, Happy & Strong.” She is also Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto.
Dr. Brown holds several leadership roles including as Co-founder and Chair of HPV Prevention Week in Canada, Founder and Chair for the Federation of Medical Women of Canada’s (FMWC) HPV Task Force, and Co-chair for the FMWC Maternal RSV Task Force. She is active in numerous organizations including as Board Member for Immunize Canada, Board Member for the Women’s Brain Health Initiative, past President for the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, past VP North America for the Medical Women’s International Association and past Chair of the Consumer Education Committee for The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS). Dr. Brown is an active contributing member to several other medical societies as well as numerous provincial and federal advisory boards.
Dr. Vivien Brown is affectionately known as “The Queen of Vaccine”, “Everyone’s Favourite Family Physician” and “The Doctor’s Doctor”. Her speaking engagements can be focused or broad, depending on the needs of the audience. Her expertise covers a vast range of topics in women’s health and healthy aging including bones (osteoporosis), brain health, cancer prevention, cardiac (heart health), disease prevention, health promotion, immunization across the life span, menopause, sexual health, sleep, stress management, vaccine-preventable diseases, and well-being.
